The project comprises the redevelopment of an existing church site to create a new Regional Climbing & Bouldering Centre.

The first phase included refurbishment and internal alterations to the existing St Andrews Church, with the second phase comprising a new build bespoke extension to house the climbing walls. The new structure required inclined perimeter walls to suit climbing requirements, and was designed as a braced steel frame with a raft foundation to counteract overturning forces generated by the “lean” of the building. External works comprised ramps, soft landscaping and retaining walls, to form access from the existing streetscape.

The completed centre  includes a café and soft play area in addition to the climbing and bouldering facilities,  the climbing walls were carried out as a specialised fit-out contract .
